Ondine Spring 2005

Ondine by Jean Giraudoux still focuses on the two main characters; the Mermaid and the Knight.  His Knight simply cannot equal the Ondine's pure and total devotion.  Giraudoux twists this ending by killing his Knight and erasing the memory of their entire love.  By doing this, he levels the ground so that no other Ondine or man will deceive themselves again.
