General Admission
To qualify for general admission to a college, you must have a high school diploma, its equivalent, or be 18 years of age or older.
Identity Verification
In order to provide a safe and secure learning environment, admission to our colleges require that all new applicants verify their identity. Applicants will need access to a computer or mobile device that has a camera in order to provide a real-time photo of yourself (Liveness Check) and upload a photo ID (Driver’s License, Passport, ID card, etc.).

Degree-Seeking ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app
If you plan to attend full or part-time and work towards a degree, diploma, or certificate you must also be admitted to a curriculum. In addition to the completed admission form, degree-seeking (curriculum) students must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing and mathematics.
Admission to a college or a curriculum does not necessarily guarantee admission to a particular program.
Non-Degree-Seeking ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app
If you are planning to take classes without completing a certificate, diploma, or degree program, you are classified as a non-curriculum student. You will need to complete the application for admission and fulfill any prerequisite requirements as outlined in the College Catalog.
Transfer ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app
Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended must be submitted if you are requesting transfer credit. Official transcripts must be sent directly to the college from the institution in a sealed envelope.

ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app’s ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Colleges remain a smart choice for students who are beginning postsecondary education or returning to college mid-career.
ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app community college tuition and mandatory education and general fees are approximately one-third of the comparable costs of attending ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app’s public four-year universities.
For the 2024-25 academic year (starting with fall semester), in-state tuition and mandatory education and general fees (Tuition and E&G fee) for our colleges will be approximately $2,451 for a semester of full-time study (15 credit hours). Note that ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app’s   program covers tuition,  fees and expenses for qualifying students pursuing high-demand programs. Also, in-state tuition may apply to certain military dependents, active military members, dual enrolled students, and other special categories of students. Current Tuition Rates
Tuition and E&G rates set by the State Board for ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Colleges: beginning in the Fall Semester for the 2024-25 academic year (adopted May  2024) are as follows:
ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Resident – $163.40 per credit hour
Out-of-State Resident – $378.00 per credit hour
A tuition differential is charged at Brightpoint, Northern ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app, J. Sargeant Reynolds, Germanna, Piedmont ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app, ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Peninsula, Tidewater, and ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Western ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Colleges. In addition, most ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Colleges have some mandatory local student fees. Please consult your individual community college for complete information about tuition at your college and any local parking or student activity fees that may apply.
